Being a Director for the SCSP is far from an easy task. As a Director, you will be in charge for managing your chapter as well as combating stigma in the community that your chapter covers. It takes more than just academic ability to be a director; it takes diligence, dedication, rigor, pride, and a leader to efficiently and successfully run a campaign. There are two levels of directors: school/ chapter directors, and chief directors.
Chief Directors are the executive and corporate individuals of the SCSP. There is exactly one Chief Director, and exactly one Assistant Chief Director. Chief Directors must previously have been chapter Directors and are considered the highest rank in the SCSP. Chief Directors will hand select their successors based off merit once their graduating year has come near to an end. Chief Directors are responsible for maintaining the relationship and flow of resources from multiple organizations to the schools. Chief Directors also serve as negotiators for major sponsors, government agencies, and are responsible for making sure all school system and legal policies are followed.
Every high school (also known as a chapter) has exactly one Director and between one and two Assistant Directors. Directors are picked after filling out an application, passing the Director's Academy with a B or higher, and provide referrals. From there, the Chief Directors and the chapter's sponsor will go through and select those who they feel are best fit for the position.
The following is the process to becoming a director:
Apply to become a general member (click the "application" link under "join us!")
Apply to become a director by clicking the button at the bottom of this page
Wait for a response via email or phone call. your application will be reviewed by the chief directors, who will contact the school sponsor to get a second opinion.
If accepted, you will be admitted into the Director's Academy: a three week, online course to train you to be everything you need to be. at this point you are referred to as an "Intern Director".
if you pass with a "b" or higher, you will become a director for your chapter. the intern director with the highest grade averaged with the most impressive application will become the director, and all others will become ASSISTANT directors for the chapter.
